Christmas Letter

Greetings Family and Friends,
Another year has gone by and more than usual we have much to be thankful for this past year. The journey God has been on with us through this year has been so amazing, and I look back wondering how any of it would have been possible without Him! Starting in January we sought out to see what our options were to move. Never really thinking it was possible, but we were open to whatever and wherever the road took us. Long story short, we sold our house and moved in, and closed on another house at the beginning of October. As I have said it’s an amazing journey God had all planned out and I have documented bits and pieces of it on our blog here. I try to keep up with it, but we’ve been crazy busy with our house situation and will continue to try to keep it up throughout the year.

Kyron is our 5 ½ year old! He has started Kindergarten at Immanuel Lutheran School, a private school in town, and three blocks down the road from our house now!! We had our first parent/teacher conference in November and he is one of her more ‘advanced’ students, which I knew from the time he could say his abc’s and spell his name at 2! I’m so proud of him, he’s making new friends and has been reading a lot on his own. Besides reading, he loves to play outside, he has a classmate that lives kiddy corner from us, play video games with daddy, and the best part of our new house he tells people is his baseball room!

Sarin is our 1 ½ year old. Yes we celebrated her first birthday this year!! She was taking a couple steps about a month after her birthday but wasn’t in full force for another month. She’s still getting the talking down, she can repeat words but communicates and understands everything we say. She is the prime example of a daddy’s girl and even though that’s exactly what Mark wanted, he may regret it at times. Sarin had a hard time adjusting to the new house, only because all she ever knew was sharing a room with her brother and then we moved into a new house and put her in a room by herself, so it took a week or two, but she’s very comfortable with things now. She LOVES babies, and anything pink, she would eat snacks all day if I let her, and she’s obsessed with shoes!

Mark is still at his two jobs and will continue to provide for this family as much as he can, until God has other plans. He still is and always will be into flames, and making things out of wood again, which has been his passion. We have a garage now, so I see him doing many projects in there in the future.

I am still doing my Thirty-one business and actually promoted to the next level in October, so that’s exciting. I also got the chance to attend their national conference in Atlanta this year, where they celebrated their 10th anniversary. It was a great experience and I’m glad I was able to go. Other than that, Mark and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary in July. We also were able to take a road trip to Colorado where my best friend and Mark’s best friend live because they were due with their first child. We stayed for a week and she went into labor a few hours after we left, but we were glad we got to spend a little time with them, and by ourselves without the kids! We were also excited to celebrate the wedding of my brother Kyle to Anna, in April, and they are now expecting in March. With all the love in the air my other brother Ryan surprised his girlfriend Fayth with a proposal and they are on the road to a wedding come May!

We are excited to spend our first Christmas in our new house and make memories and traditions that our kids can carry on and talk about for years! We pray God will bless you this Holiday season and you always find something to be thankful for.

The Doerrlers: Mark, Katie, Kyron and Sarin.
