Devil's Lake

I can still not figure out why it is called "Devil's Lake" because of the beauty in God's creation there, but the State Park was our adventureous activity for this past weekend. My Mom and Dad and brothers and my brother's girlfriend decided to go to Devil's Lake for the day and we didn't have anything going on, so we went with them. The day looked promising, the sun was shining and Kyron was watching a movie on the way down. When we got there the day turned out to be hotter than we expected. Kyron had to wear a "monkey backpack" with a leash, so he wouldn't run off. We started along the lake and took the path through the rocks. After our lunch break, we headed up the trail, basically a staircase of rocks straight up. We thought it would never end, and it felt steeper and steeper. Our clothes were drenched in sweat as we made our trek through the wooded path, which was a nice shade. Took lots of pictures, of the beautiful creation and of mom and dad and my brothers. After the trek down which was a God send, we made it back to the van to change into our swimsuits. Ahhh..finally a much needed cool down in the lake. The water was surprisingly nice, not too cold on such a hot day. Kyron had fallen asleep on the way to the the beach and slept all the way home. All in all it was a good experience, Kyron loves being outside and it was great excerise! So we will probably go more in the future, we might think about camping there someday too! Here are some pictures from the adventure. .
