DCA homeschool

Well we have been extremely busy these past couple weeks. We wanted to start school in the 15th after we got back from vacation, but with vacation being extended a few days because of a transmission issue we decided to postpone it. Which I'm glad we did. The joy of homeschooling and starting whenever we want. Being able to work around our schedule and what works for us! We have named our "school" Doerrler Christain Accademy or DCA homeschool, which are our two hashtags on Instagram ;-)
Mark had been working really hard at finishing our table for our room and it wasn't until last Friday that it went in. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and it turned our perfect. I love how it looks in our homeschool room.
We also finished our three shelves for storage which I also love!
Here are a few other things in our room. The chalkboard, my teacher desk (to the right)
Kids cabbies with responsibly charts, reading nook, bookshelf and "tot spot" which is just a magnetic board with pockets full of magnets!
So we officially started on the 29th which was a little rocky but we made it.
I knew going in as I had all these expectations that I had to be mindful they might not all be what I wanted...well that was an understatement! I don't think I was fully ready to start but for the first week we have managed. I think as we get further into the year we will learn and grow and know what we are fully capable of. Once we get it all figured out it will be Summer again ;-) LOL
We wanted to start a first day of school tradition so they picked bowling. (We still had kids bowl free coupons!)
Then the two older kids both had their first soccer games this week! That was so fun to watch them as they make new friends and stay active.
The kids love it.
The biggest challenge in homeschooling is keeping all three kids occupied at the same time without being inturrupted or frustrated. So there are still lots of things to improve! So far we are sure that this adventure will be the most challenging (besides our vehicles, got the water pump replaced in the trailerblazer) but we are relying on God to provide for our needs and help us through our challenges.
